Green grass. An urban oasis. This tee started off life as a collection of photos intended to become a mosaic of urban ‘furniture’. with simply the word ‘Urban’. The type was always going to be filled with some sort of texture, but an old picture of green grass I had from England seemed to fit rather well. The original idea then went out the window and this became Urban Oasis. Funny how these things happen 🙂

Everyone loves Sin City – Las Vegas! You know that gambling’s bad but the place is just so much fun!
The global financial crisis is hitting hard everywhere – including Las Vegas, but you know the funseekers will be back as soon as they feel rich enough.
Welcome to Las Vegas, as the economy of gambling salvages Nevada.
I love simple and effective – oh and if you combine it with industrial ‘stuff’, then further bonus points.

James Bond’s driven lots of cool cars, but the Aston’s and the BMW’s don’t come close to what this 1976 Lotus Esprit could do.
It’ s now available for sale very cheaply as petrol prices are rising and cars fitted with weaponry aren’t in fashion right now.
It comes with lots of extras as you’d expect, but due to slight water damage offers will be considered.

There’s millions of Star Wars T-Shirts on the web, and even more with some inspiration from the style or characters from the films.
I really like this one from GaffaUK because it’s not trying to be a massively detailed technical masterpiece, it’s trying to pack in a whole film into a single colour ‘infographic’ style design.
Just keep looking and you’ll find more and more scenes you remember. Can you recognise them all?
A Reel to reel tape deck isn’t something that most kids would even recognise these days.
Most have grown up in an age where the ‘compact’ cassette tape was outdated.
So, to provide a retro history lesson I present the ‘Reel Vintage Tape Deck’, a vector design complete with knobs and switches you have to actually ‘move’ in order to get things to happen. If you can work this baby without getting wrapped up like a mummy you’re doing well.
The tape counter’s permanently stuck on 1974, which is coincidentally when this ‘vintage’ model is from.
This tee design also placed second in a music challenge in the Redbubble Retro Tees group.
Muscular Teeth is a prolific T-Designer, mixing hand-drawn art with technical fine detail and illustrative vectors.
This new design is a stand out for me as it really speaks the subject. This little one clearly ‘wants their mummy!!!!’. You can actually ‘feel’ the emotion welling up in the posture – it’s so well observed.
It’s cute, and sad, a great style and unmistakably Muscular Teeth.
Sometimes it’s not all about T-Shirts. When you see some truly awesome work you just have to tell people about it.
Simon Sherry produces fantastic vector art – mostly seen on T-Shirts. His work-in-progress collection of stylised playing cards entitled ‘full deck’ is just amazing.
This particular piece of art is a stand out for me, because it looks stunning even at a distance. As you get closer you realise this is vector art, and you start to think – wow.
You get even closer and then see the real detail of the piece and you realise how truly good this is.

The energy saving lighthouse. Powered by its own wind turbine, it silently does the job of saving lost eco warrior vessels.
This is a vector revamp of an originally hand drawn design, and the halftone pattern used for the ‘light’ is enough to enter it into a challenge on Redbubble.

I’m a creative geek living in Melbourne, Australia who writes software by day, and creates T-shirts and other designs by night. This is all of course when time and motivation allows.
It’s probably accurate to say I dabble in things other than software to keep my creative side happy. I was always a keen musician (guitar, drums and keyboards) but am now happy to dream of the ‘greatness’ I never achieved. I may surprise myself yet… I might also get round to finishing my list of gig attendances one day.
I like to take pictures of things that interest me, and am becoming and increasingly keen photographer.
I occasionally write technical articles, produce the odd bit of freeware, and record technical thoughts on my Codebureau blog. Anything left may end up on this blog – but that’s rapidly turning into my world of T-Shirts!
